OUR INTERNATIONAL MOVEMENT?

Learn about our first international chapter below!

WOAA
INDIA

Women of Aeronautics and Astronautics India, is the first international chapter of WoAA .We aim to create a community that promotes equality within the space industry for people from all genders, backgrounds and space related fields. WoAA India first started as an idea in August 2020 and had its Kick-off event on the 3rd of October with a fantastic panel of Women from various STEM fields, over 65+ attendees and almost 40 active volunteers.
The team and organisation has only grown from strength to strength by organising multiple networking events, professional development and outreach events.
The India chapter will focus heavily on undergraduate and graduate students by providing them a community they can reach out to, a platform for professional development opportunities and eventually be a bridge between the industry, research labs within the country and students studying in India. In no way do we wish to be limited by gender, economic background or citizenship and wish to build an international environment for students and young professionals in India.

Our working groups

Events

The working group decides the structure of the events, flow during the main event, roles of volunteers participating during these events and some potential ideas. We work with our guests and decide on the structures of our events and come up with networking events that work for the Indian demographic.

OUTreach

This team has 2 goals: promotion and outreach for upcoming events through social media and newsletters;  overall outreach of WoAA India and our collaborations with other organisations. We also maintain regular contact with our members through a telegram group by sharing opprotunities and hosting weekly trivia.

Design

The working group is dedicated to working with volunteers to design and create the posters, post and flyers for the upcoming events, social media etc. Weekly meetings decide the theme of our events and also the design of general outreach posts. The volunteers also help out with content and write ups to go with the posts.
