The Women of Aeronautics and Astronautics (WoAA) is an international organization dedicated to increasing the participation of marginalized genders in the fields of aeronautics and astronautics. Towards this goal, we have aligned with the main professional society in the field, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and have created a network of university and professional chapters. WoAA is the centerpiece that combines central AIAA leadership with the K-12 pipeline and established industry veterans to create a community for marginalized genders. WoAA's goals fulfill a critical part of AIAA’s Diversity & Inclusion plan, by “facilitating improvements in diversity of AIAA members and its groups.”

 

Our specific goals are the following:

• Increase participation of marginalized genders in the aerospace field through technical and professional development

• Create a safe and welcoming place for minorities through mentorship and outreach

• Build a supportive community
